All design and installation works are carried in accordance with BS 9251 : 2005. A correctly designed, domestic sprinkler system will detect and control a fire at an early stage. The sprinklers are located in specific locations with the appropriate sprinkler type set to operate at pre-determined temperatures.
Dry Risers & Wet Risers
Risers are commonly found in buildings over four floors, used as a way of assisting the fire service to quickly pump water up to high levels. Drastically saving time in not having to lay out and connect many lengths of hose from the fire engine up stairwells to the 4th floor and above.
Dry risers are vertical mains named so, due to being normally empty of water, the opposite of a wet riser, which is a constantly pressurised water pipe supplied by a storage tank with pump, a mains pump or from a mains pressure supply.
