Team FirePower pedals for charity
The second of our main charity events for this year is all over, the 36th Pedal Car Grand Prix took place on Torre Abbey Meadows in the sunshine. Our team of 11 finely tuned athletes pedalled their way to ...... last place! Ten teams took part in this years event, powered along by new go karts.
Making the most of our in house sign company, A-Signs put a few finishing touches to the kart which in turn awarded us 3rd prize in Best Turned out Team. Joe Robinson managed to get the second fastest lap of the day - well done Joe!
Qualifying laps started at 10am, with each team member bravely stating they would be doing at least 2 laps before pitting; that soon changed when one lap had been completed and they collapsed off the kart with jelly legs!
The two hour endurance race started at 2pm and the boys were ablet o complete 76 laps, well done!! Lessons learnt for next year, and training will be undertaken next year. A very enjoyable day was had by all though, and more importantly over £300 raised for Childrens Hospice SW.
